About this poster
The last Grand Prix ever held in Switzerland. The Bremgarten circuit wound through the forest just outside Bern, fast, narrow and lined with trees, one of the most feared tracks of its time. On 22 August 1954 Juan Manuel Fangio won in the silver number 4, almost a minute clear of Jose Froilan Gonzalez in the red number 20, with Hans Herrmann third in the second silver car, number 6. Less than a year later the disaster at Le Mans led Switzerland to ban circuit racing, and this race became the country's last Grand Prix.
Designed in Switzerland about Switzerland's last Grand Prix: a silver, a red and a silver band run to the finish line in finishing order, and a hand-drawn, photorealistic front of the silver winning single-seater sits in the corner. The data row reads 66 laps of the 7.280 km circuit, a winning time of 3:00:34.5 at 159.7 km/h, a 2:39.7 fastest lap, 16 starters and 8 classified.
