ABOUT THIS POSTER.
23 April 1933, one of the greatest duels the sport has seen: the red number 28 and the blue number 10 swapped the lead twenty-one times through the streets of Monte Carlo, and it was settled on the very last lap, when the red car's engine gave out on the climb to the Casino and the blue car won. It was also the first Grand Prix with the grid set by practice times instead of a draw. Here the two fight wheel to wheel round the curve in front of the Casino, where it was decided.
- The red number 28 and the blue number 10 side by side, seen low from the kerb
- The Casino with its towers, palms and flower beds, a flag-decked terrace grandstand
- Precise Art Deco lettering: MONACO, Grand Prix Automobile, 23 Avril 1933; part of our Pre-War Grand Prix series
The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
