THE STORY · Nº 2827

ABOUT THIS POSTER.

1 July 1934, the French Grand Prix at the concrete speed bowl south of Paris, in heat that scorched the track. The new silver German streamliners raced in France for the first time and one of them led the early laps, until the red number 12 took the lead back and won. This poster puts the red car and the silver number 2 together on the steep banking, with the flag-decked grandstand, the water tower and the old Montlhéry tower on its hill behind.

  • The red number 12 and the silver mid-engined number 2 racing on the steep concrete banking
  • The 1924 speed bowl, the period grandstand with French flags, the water tower and the medieval Montlhéry tower
  • Precise Art Deco lettering: MONTLHÉRY, Grand Prix Automobile, 1er Juillet 1934; part of our Pre-War Grand Prix series

The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
