THE STORY · Nº 8747
ABOUT THIS POSTER.
The pothos, the vine from the Society Islands that now trails off every bookshelf in the world, drawn as an 1830s pharmacopoeia would have drawn it: one cut length of stem with its heart-shaped, gold-flecked leaves in engraved line under a deep green wash, a row of uncoloured dissection figures beneath, and the Latin name set in italic. A plant portrait, not a decoration.
- Epipremnum aureum, one cut specimen, hand-coloured look over steel-engraved line
- Five bare-line dissection figures below the plant; binomial typeset beneath
- Ivory paper, full bleed; one of six plates in our houseplant set
The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
