THE STORY · Nº 7387

ABOUT THIS POSTER.

3 July 1932, the French Grand Prix on the fast triangle of public roads west of Reims, run under a blazing noon sun between fields of ripe wheat. The red number 12, the first true single-seater Grand Prix car, won that day; here it fights wheel to wheel through a bend with the blue number 32, harvest chaff flying off the verge, a flag-decked wooden grandstand behind and the cathedral towers pulled onto the horizon the way the old posters did it.

  • Two 1932 Grand Prix cars side by side, red number 12 and blue number 32, seen low from the edge of the road
  • Golden wheat, poppies and cornflowers, the period wooden grandstand and Reims cathedral on the horizon
  • Precise Art Deco lettering: REIMS, Grand Prix Automobile, 3 Juillet 1932; part of our Pre-War Grand Prix series

The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
