ABOUT THIS POSTER.
The wire-haired Dachshund in wild boar, the harsh-coated working one with the beard and the eyebrows, standing side on in the warm grizzled brown that goes from dark along the spine to tan on the legs, drawn in engraved line under a translucent wash. Beneath it the three coat varieties studied in ink, and a full typeset entry on the badger hound: where it came from, what its shape is for, and the obstinate courage that sends a small dog underground after something twice its weight. For the people who will tell you the wire is the real Dachshund.
- Wire-haired Dachshund in wild boar, side view, over three ink head studies of the smooth, long and wire coats
- Typeset breed entry: origin, purpose, temperament, first standard 1879, Deutscher Teckelklub 1888, height and weight
- Ivory paper tone, engraved line under hand-coloured wash
