ABOUT THIS POSTER.
The oldest colour of the breed, the one that came over from Nottingham: a dark brindle French Bulldog standing side on, the fawn striping showing through a near-black wash laid over engraved line, with puppy and adult head studies in ink beneath and a full typeset entry on how a lace maker's lap dog became the dog of Paris. A portrait of the breed, not of one dog.
- Brindle French Bulldog, side view, over three ink head studies: puppy, adult, adult front
- Typeset breed entry: Nottingham lace makers, Paris, the bat ear, first standard 1897, Kennel Club 1902, height and weight
- Ivory paper tone, engraved line under hand-coloured wash
The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
