ABOUT THIS POSTER.
The chilli pepper, first grown in Mexico thousands of years ago and now the heat of kitchens all over the world, thanks to the capsaicin in its pods. Slender pods in scarlet and orange, one still turning from green, hang from a branch with small white nodding flowers, above studies of the flower, a flower in section, a halved pod full of seeds, a pod in cross-section and the seeds.
An antique-style plate in the manner of a 19th-century hand-coloured botanical engraving, on a warm ivory ground with the Latin name set beneath. A bright splash of red for a kitchen wall, next to the stove or above the spice shelf.
Designed in Switzerland. Printed on premium matte 200 gsm paper, 20×25 to 50×70 cm, unframed or in a black, white, wood or dark wood frame.
