ABOUT THIS POSTER.
On 19 February 1933 the first Grand Prix through the streets of Pau was run in a snowstorm, the drivers sliding between snow-covered palms and the Belle Époque hotels of the Boulevard des Pyrénées with the mountains white behind them. The winner and the runner-up were both blue French Grand Prix cars, numbers 6 and 18, and they are the two cars on this poster. Here they come at you side by side through the snow, wheel to wheel, spray flying off the wheels.
- Blue numbers 6 and 18 side by side in the snow, seen close and low
- Snow-laden palms, Belle Époque facades, the chateau towers and the Pyrenees in the background
- Precise Art Deco lettering: PAU, Grand Prix Automobile, 19 Février 1933; part of our Pre-War Grand Prix series
The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
