ABOUT THIS POSTER.
The rarest of the three colours and the last to be accepted: a chocolate Labrador standing side on, the deep brown laid as a translucent wash over engraved line so the paper still shows through, with puppy and adult head studies in ink beneath and a full typeset entry on where the breed came from and what it was bred to do. A portrait of the breed, not of one dog.
- Chocolate Labrador Retriever, side view, over three ink head studies: puppy, adult, adult front
- Typeset breed entry: St John's water dogs, the English estates, Kennel Club 1903, first standard 1916, height and weight
- Ivory paper tone, engraved line under hand-coloured wash
The image is generated with AI from our researched brief, then reworked and finished by our team in Switzerland. It is an original picture, not a reproduction of any historical artwork.
