ABOUT THIS POSTER.
Black pepper, the climbing vine of India's Malabar Coast whose berries became the most traded spice in history: picked and dried they give black pepper, picked early green pepper, and with the skin removed white pepper. Long hanging spikes of berries ripen from green through yellow and orange to deep red beside broad heart-shaped leaves, with studies of the flower spike, a flower, a single berry, a berry in section and the seeds below.
An antique-style plate in the manner of a 19th-century hand-coloured botanical engraving, on a warm ivory ground with the Latin name set beneath. A colourful, graphic piece for a kitchen wall, above the counter or by the dining table.
Designed in Switzerland. Printed on premium matte 200 gsm paper, 20×25 to 50×70 cm, unframed or in a black, white, wood or dark wood frame.
